Communications and Program Lead

About the Role:

The Communications and Program Lead builds community through events, workshops, and partnerships. This is a creative, flexible role for someone who loves bringing people together, trying new ideas, and communicating with the public.

Key Responsibilities

●  Plan and coordinate free, accessible, and inclusive community events (craft circles, educational workshops, group fitness, music events) in collaboration with local partners

●  Promote events, neighborhood advocacy and fundraising efforts through social media, newsletters, physical posters, and Eventbrite

●  Execute event delivery including attendance, setup/takedown, refreshments coordination, and attendance data collection

●  Coordinate the monthly Community Meeting (second Tuesday of each month in the evenings): liaise with the City’s Neighbourhood Liaison and City Councillor, confirm guest speakers, develop and share agenda, and promote through newsletter and social channels

●  Prepare and distribute the biweekly community newsletter via Mailchimp featuring NPNA events, land use updates, and community announcements

●  Update the website with news, blog posts, meeting minutes, and community updates

●  Wage: $25/ hour starting wage $28/hour after 3 month probation

●  Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend and evening commitments. Work hours are flexible and can be tailored to your preferred schedule.

●  Hours: 10-15 hours per week, with flexibility depending on workload, funding and your desired hours.

●  Location: This position offers a hybrid work model, with the option to work remotely and in-person at the NPNA office at The United Commons, 932 Balmoral Road.
