Weekly Grocery Hamper Delivery Program
Every Thursday, the NPNA puts together free, weekly grocery hampers that go out to about 95 households per week, representing about 200 individuals. Hamper recipients live in the North Park neighbourhood. The hampers are made up of produce, bread, dairy, and non-perishable items. These are sorted by an amazingly efficient group of volunteers on Thursdays. We couldn’t do this program without these wonderful, dedicated volunteers!
How to sign up for a grocery hamper
- To be eligible for a hamper, recipients must live in the North Park neighbourhood.
- Recipients are asked to pick up their hamper between 11:00am-12:00pm at First Met Church (932 Balmoral). Delivery is available to those with mobility challenges or scheduling conflicts.
- If you or someone you know would benefit from receiving a weekly grocery hamper, please fill out the form below

The hamper program began in April 2020, with some community fundraising by North Park Bicycle Shop and donations from Cobb’s Bakery the Mustard Seed. Since September 2020 we have been operating the grocery hamper program out of the Community Hall at First Met Church. We’re very grateful to First Met Church for your generosity both in the donation of space, as well as the produce, and treats donated by congregation members and the Evolving Church group. The grocery hamper relies on both donated items as well as staples purchased with grant funding. The grocery hamper program thanks Cob’s Bakery for weekly bread donations and the Foodshare Network for produce and non perishables. At the moment, the program is funded with a grant from Second Harvest and Community Foundations of Canada. We are also grateful for funding from the City of Victoria (COVID-19 Strategic Plan Grant, August 2020 – August 2021) and the Canadian Red Cross (July – December 2020).
