940 Caledonia Avenue (Caledonia Place)

The NPNA has received an update from BC Housing regarding the temporary supportive modular housing facility at 940 Caledonia Avenue, also known as Caledonia Place.

BC Housing has confirmed that Caledonia Place will permanently close on March 31, 2026. All residents have been supported in relocating to other housing, and the site is now vacant. The modular units will be transported from Vancouver Island to the Lower Mainland for future use in New Westminster.

Dismantling of the units will begin on February 23, 2026, with removal scheduled for the week of March 9, 2026. The relocation process is expected to take up to three business days. BC Housing has confirmed that all municipal bylaws will be followed, and they are working with the City of Victoria to minimize traffic disruptions and temporary parking impacts. Once the units have been removed, the site will be restored to its previous condition.

Next Steps: The City of Victoria owns the land at 940 Caledonia Avenue and will determine its future use.
