Project Overview: Bowcey Construction submitted a Rezoning and Development Permit with Variances application to retain two houseplexes and construct a new seven-unit townhouse building along Bay Street.
Project Update: As of October 30th, 2024, there are no new plan submissions for staff review. The NPNA recently met with the City of Victoria to inquire about updates to the project. The following points were discussed:
- The project remains complex due to retaining the existing house-plexes alongside the proposed townhouses.
- Building code compliance confirmation is required, though no updates beyond subdivision requirements have been submitted.
- Discussions about secure rental tenure continue between the City and the applicant, with a request for a defined tenure period, but no agreement has been reached.
- Lot line adjustments and front access grading are still under review.
- Plans are anticipated to be revised in the coming months, though the extent of changes in the re-submission remains uncertain.
